Locations and initiative settings

Locations tell supporters where help happens. Initiative settings control the public profile and whether the organisation is currently accepting commitments.

Add and maintain locations​

Open Manage → Locations. For each location, provide:

  • a recognisable name;
  • street, postal code, city, and country;
  • opening hours in one or more time windows;
  • notes such as entrance, accessibility, or handover instructions;
  • an accurate map pin.

adiuto tries to locate the address automatically. If it cannot, correct the address, choose the country, or set both latitude and longitude. Without coordinates, the location cannot appear reliably in distance search or on the map.

One location is the primary location. Make another one primary before deleting it.

One initiative or several?​

Use one initiative when the same organisation and team manage all locations and can coordinate their needs together. Use separate initiatives when locations operate independently, have separate responsibility, or should maintain distinct public identities.

Edit the public profile​

Open Manage → Settings to update the name, description, contact email, website, logo, and banner. Keep public contact details monitored and do not put personal or sensitive recipient data in the description.

Pause an initiative​

An administrator can pause an initiative when it temporarily cannot accept new help.

  • Active tasks disappear from public lists and no new contributions can be made.
  • The public initiative profile remains visible and is marked as paused.
  • Existing committed missions continue; pausing does not cancel them.
  • An administrator can resume the initiative later.

Before pausing, read the impact summary and add an internal reason without personal data.

Archive an initiative​

Archiving permanently closes the initiative for normal managers: its public profile and tasks disappear, and memberships are removed when the archive takes effect. Active missions block archiving until they finish or are resolved.

When other administrators remain, an archive proposal opens an objection window so they can keep the initiative active. Archiving is not the right tool for a temporary break—use Pause instead.
