Privacy and safe use

This page gives practical product guidance. The current Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are the authoritative legal documents.

For everyone

  • Use a nickname as your display name if you do not want your legal name shown.
  • Do not publish mission QR codes, pickup codes, password-reset links, or initiative access links.
  • Check the initiative and location before making a commitment.
  • Put only information relevant to the task in notes.
  • Report suspicious messages through the published contact route; adiuto will never need your password.

For initiative teams

  • Publish organisational contact details, not a private address or personal phone number unless intentionally used for that role.
  • Collect only recipient information required for direct delivery and respect your organisation’s lawful process for handling it.
  • Do not place health information, case histories, residency status, or other sensitive data in public tasks, announcements, or general notes.
  • Approve members after verifying them through your normal team process.
  • Give each person the least access they need and review memberships regularly.
  • Create one personal, expiring scan-access link per ground volunteer; revoke it when no longer required.
  • Use honest operational reasons when aborting missions or calling off shifts. Those reasons are sent to supporters.

Account deletion

Users can permanently delete their account and personal data from account settings. A sole initiative administrator must first hand over responsibility or archive the initiative. This prevents an organisation from being left without a responsible administrator.

Old platform data

The new adiuto implementation uses fresh accounts and memberships. Do not assume that an old login, consent, role, or contact record remains valid. Re-register current people and republish only current organisational information and needs.
